Rosa K. Hand, PhD, RDN, LD, FAND

Rosa K Hand is a registered dietitian nutritionist and associate professor in the Department of Nutrition. She holds a secondary appointment in the Center for Medical Education where she serves as Director, Medical Student Research & Scholarship, overseeing the research curriculum and experience for MD students in the University Program.  Dr. Hand serves as academic advisor to Nutrition MS students completing their internship at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center. She teaches Evidence-Based Practice for Healthcare Professionals (NTRN 403), Food Service Systems Management (NTRN 351/451), serves as advisor for all minors in the department, and coordinates the department’s summer undergraduate research program. Dr. Hand's research interests include RDN staffing and patient outcomes in a variety of settings, critical thinking, and evidence-based practice in health professionals. Dr. Hand was elected to a three-year term on the Commission on Dietetic Registration, serving as vice chair in 2022-2023 and as chair beginning June 1, 2023.
