About the Inamori Ethics Prize

Case Western Reserve University and the Inamori International Center for Ethics and Excellence annually honor one individual whose actions and influence have greatly improved the condition of humankind.

This September, we recognize the contributions and ethical leadership demonstrated by Myroslava Gongadze, journalist and free press and human rights advocate, by awarding her with the 2023 Inamori Ethics Prize.

When announcing the award earlier this year, Case Western Reserve President Eric W. Kaler described how Gongadze’s commitment to upholding justice and ensuring civil liberties—for people in Ukraine and around the world—and her persistent efforts to seek and speak the truth are an inspiration to us all.
