Sending Shopping Cart Courses to SIS

Introduction

The shopping cart can be built in SIS or Stellic. If it is built in Stellic, it can be sent to SIS with the click of a button. This functionality is only available to students in Stellic. Faculty and staff cannot add or delete courses in a student’s shopping cart in SIS.

Sending Shopping Cart Courses to SIS

  1. Confirm Courses: Click the button to start the process of sending planned courses in Stellic to your shopping cart in SIS. If any courses already exist in the shopping cart in SIS, Stellic will reconcile and bring those courses over with a reload of the page.

    IMPORTANT: All validation of courses for permissions and course registration will still take place in SIS.

  2. Stellic Cart: A pop-up window will appear on your screen, and any courses listed in the Stellic Cart area will be sent from Stellic to the shopping cart in SIS.

    • Review that all course information is correct. Pay special attention to the number of units identified for any variable unit courses.

  3. Keep Courses as “Planned”: You can choose to click the “x” next to any course in the Stellic Cart to prevent the course from being sent to the shopping cart in SIS. This will keep the course as “Planned” in Stellic only, and will move the course from the Stellic Cart on the right side of the pop-up window to the Course Plan on the left side.

  4. Confirm Courses: Once you have reviewed the course information, click the button to transfer any planned courses in Stellic to the shopping cart in SIS.

  5. Success or Failed Message: Once Stellic sends the course information to SIS, you will receive notification of a success of failed action.

    • Review any messages associated with the success of fail notifications. This will provide additional information if validation of the course is required in SIS before registration in the course, or why the course failed to add.

    • If you received a successfully added message, you should immediately be able to see the courses from Stellic in the shopping cart in SIS. You may need to reload the shopping cart in SIS to see changes if you are currently on that screen.

  6. Tag Associated with Course in Stellic: Once a course has been added to the shopping cart in SIS, the tag on the course will change from “Planned” to “In Cart”.

  7. Delete From Cart: To delete the course from the shopping cart in SIS from within Stellic, you can expand the course section information and click the button to immediately delete the course from your shopping cart. The course will change from “In Cart” to “Planned” in Stellic, and will remain in the Planner until you take additional action to remove it as a planned course.

Note: Clicking the “Confirm Courses” button will always reconcile with the Shopping Cart courses in SIS first. You can add courses to the shopping cart in SIS and send them to Stellic using this feature as well, without having them in the Stellic planner beforehand.
