About The Program
Case Western Reserve University is proud to announce an exciting opportunity reserved only for second year students—the Second Year Institute (2YI). This innovative and highly interactive program will focus on the second year themes- exploration, engagement and personal vision.
The Second Year Institute (2YI) is an opportunity exclusively for second years who are interested in reflecting on your previous time at CWRU while planning for your remaining time as an undergrad. This highly interactive program will give students a chance to interact with administrators, faculty, upper-class and other second year students while exploring the foundation of the second year experience. Participants will look at their past and take those experiences to plan for the future. There is no experience like this on campus for second year students, so sign up today!
Registration information will be posted here when it becomes available. Stay tuned!
The shared experiences of institute participants won't end at the conclusion of the program. Participants will have an opportunity to gather during the academic year at the 2YI Reunion, the Second Year Celebration, and other special events.
Wondering about the experience? Here is what past participants have said:
"I was not sure what to expect when signing up for the Second-Year Institute (2YI), but I'm glad I went! It was a great way to get away from campus stress for a weekend, spend time outdoors, and get to know some of my peers. The experience was motivational, and without my student facilitator Luke, our group would not have been so willing to open up and become close knit. Even after the weekend, our group met up on more than one occasion to catch up. I feel more at ease about being an upperclassman thanks to Luke and the 2YI."
"Some of the best parts of 2YI were getting to know other second-year and upper-class students that I previously had not interacted with, working with staff members, and having a good mix of team-building activities ranging from the physical to the reflective and introspective. I learned how to better utilize my strengths with regard to personal interactions and my activities at CWRU."
Learn more about the Case community and yourself through dynamic workshops, connection with others and opportunities to socialize with fellow second-year students.
Participants will gain a greater understanding of themselves and will leave with a plan for making the most out of your remaining time on at CWRU.
