The Spartans Connect mentorship program is designed to match first-year undergraduates with alumni for career exploration through virtual informational interviews. We know that starting college raises many questions about majors, careers, and opportunities. Spartans Connect pairs you with alumni who are eager to share their experiences and help you discover answers.
Program Benefits
By participating in Spartans Connect, you will:
- Build your professional network through a match with a CWRU alum facilitated by the Center for Career Success and the Alumni Association
- Gain insights on career opportunities related to your academic interests and industry goals
- Receive guidance from alumni on careers, course selection, and involvement in campus/professional organizations
- Learn practical strategies for success in college and beyond
Program Details
- Students must attend a mandatory in-person information session to participate in Spartans Connect coordinated by the Center for Career Success.
- Information sessions are offered the first 2 weeks of the fall and spring semesters and announced in Events on Handshake—check regularly for dates, times, and locations.
- At the information session, you’ll learn how Spartans Connect works and how we match you with an alum who shares your career interests.
- You’ll also receive tips on networking, building your professional profile, and preparing for your virtual informational interview.
Meeting alumni is a great opportunity to gather insights about classes, career paths, and strategies for success—all from the comfort of your own space. We will also discuss the importance of networking and building your network and you will receive information on how to build a profile on the CWRU Connect.
