This spring, undergraduate students from Weatherhead School of Management took home top prizes and honorable mentions at several regional competitions.
At the Federal Reserve Poster Competition in May, Weatherhead’s Victoria Sung, ’19, won first-place honors in the Economics category; while Phil Adikes, ’19, and Shrey Agarwal, ’19, won 3rd place in the Finance division.
The Federal Reserve’s competition invites undergraduate students to submit presentations of their research in economics or finance and present their projects to Federal Reserve economists, research analysts, local finance professionals and faculty from nearby institutions.
At DataFest in April, Weatherhead undergraduates Kareem Agag, ’20, and his team Big Data Energy won for Best Visualization. Anthony Brennan, '20, and his team The Den by Denny’s won Honorable Mention for Best Use of External Data.
DataFest is a global data analysis competition held at more than 60 universities. After 48 hours of intensive data analysis, 11 teams of cross-discipline undergraduate students present their findings to a panel of judges. This is the third time that Case Western Reserve University has hosted the annual event.
Also in April, several Weatherhead students won first-place honors at CWRU Intersections SOURCE Symposium and Poster Session.
Rasheed Ajala, ’19, and Priyal Chadha, ’19, tied for 1st place in the Social Sciences division for their research, "Does overspending on healthcare benefit patients with acute conditions?"
Jacob Frisch, ’20, and Luke DiMuzio, '19, tied for 1st place in the Social Sciences division for their research, "Efficiency in Major League Baseball Player Contracts Market."
Philip Adikes, '19, and Shrey Agarwal, ’19, tied for 2nd place in the Social Sciences divisions for their research, "The Role of Credit-Market Sentiment in the Economy."
