Master of Finance

Weatherhead students in class listening to the professor teach

Turn critical thinking into capabilities.

If you enjoy solving problems, working with numbers and understanding how organizations, markets and decisions really work, a Master of Finance (MFin) offers one of the clearest paths to responsibility, growth and long-term opportunity.

In the MFin program at Weatherhead School of Management, we prepare you to turn instincts into practical financial capabilities. Become a leader who employers rely on for real decisions, not just analysis, with curriculum that emphasizes the practical use of core concepts.

What Our MFin Offers

Finance is about more than memorizing formulas; it’s about learning how decisions involving capital actually happen. In this program, you will build the trust and confidence to make key decisions, and learn how to:

  • Understand what businesses are worth, and why
  • See where risk actually lives—not just where it’s reported
  • Connect financial analysis to strategy, operations and leadership
  • Build models that inform decisions, not just populate spreadsheets
  • Explain financial insights clearly to managers and executives

Choose your own program structure with either the 9-month accelerated track or the 15-month professional track. Learn more about our MFin curriculum.

You’ll complete the same professionalism and communication core shared across the Weatherhead School’s specialty master’s programs, gaining skills in communication, reasoning and presence that will help you leverage your knowledge as you advance in your career.

Is MFin Right for You?

Our program might be a great fit if you:

  • Like puzzles, patterns and problem-solving
  • Enjoy working with numbers, but also explaining ideas clearly
  • Are curious about how businesses make money, grow and manage risk
