Special Collections and University Archives is home to the Kelvin Smith Library’s rare books and manuscripts collections, and the records of Case Western Reserve University.
In the Freedman Center, the Digital Scholarship Team brings expertise and technology together in support of students, faculty and staff pursuing interdisciplinary, collaborative and experimental research and learning. An open-concept workspace, the Freedman Center features dozens of state-of-the-art equipment, diverse hardware and cutting-edge software.
Laced with Love
Kelvin Smith Library, Art Gallery, 1st Floor
Laced with Love is a collaborative exhibit featuring painters who create work along the topics of femininity and feminism. The exhibit is organized by emerging artist Arianna Papai, a Cleveland Institute of Art (CIA) painting major, as part of the school's Creativity Works internship program. Papai partnered with KSL and Flora Stone Mather Center for Women in developing this exhibit and a blackout poetry event in April 2024.
The exhibit will remain on view until August 2024 and also features the work of CIA students Jamie Brinker and Emily Fontana.

Submit Course Reserves Requests by August 12
Kelvin Smith Library is now accepting course reserve requests for the fall 2024 semester. Accepted materials include books and audiovisual materials (DVDs, Blu-ray discs, and CDs). Requests can be submitted via the form on the library’s website.
