University Archives and Special Collections are home to the records of Case Western Reserve University, and to Kelvin Smith Library’s rare books and manuscripts collections.

The Freedman Center technology is being refreshed. Users will have all new computers, including desktops with higher computing capacity; more software options, including packages for experimentation with generative AI; and staff will be available during set hours to answer questions without an appointment.

KSL Features - located on the first floor
A popular art form in Mexican culture, Alebrijes are colorful, imaginative creatures made from a mix of different animals. Organized by Lecturer of Spanish, Elena Fernandez, during the 2025 spring semester, the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures hosted a workshop where CWRU students and staff made their own Alebrijes with guidance from local artist Héctor Castellanos Lara. On view on the 1st floor of KSL now to mid-August 2025.
