Give to Preservation Services

Student works on a coin conservation project at Kelvin Smith Library

Kelvin Smith Library's Preservation Services team safeguards the university's scholarly and cultural record, ensuring that the fragile physical and digital materials that define Case Western Reserve University's legacy remain accessible for generations to come.

Through a comprehensive program that integrates physical conservation, cultural heritage imaging, and digital preservation, we stabilize delicate physical materials for use, digitize and share tens of thousands of collection items through our digital library, and actively monitor the health of our digital files.

Your gift to Preservation Services directly supports our mission by funding conservation supplies, advanced imaging and digitization equipment, digital preservation infrastructure, and student training opportunities.

Help us sustain this vital work by giving today or considering one of the following opportunities:

  • Name a position or space
  • Provide discretionary funding for conservation or digitization
    • Identify particular items or collections
    • Donations can also be acknowledged on an item or a collection in Digital Case, our digital library
  • Invest in an identified project
  • Support student internships in preservation techniques and methodology
