Open Doors Academy Partnership

The Schubert Center team continues its partnership with Open Doors Academy (ODA), an afterschool youth development program serving K-12 students across the greater Cleveland area. The Schubert Center team, led by Research Director Dr. Minnes and postdoctoral scholar Dr. Fisher, includes CWRU Graduate students Jessica Salley Riccardi, MS, CCC-SLP, Emily Miller, MSSA, and Liat Johnson, LISW-S. ODA continues to meet the needs of scholars and their families through programming focused on social/emotional growth, academic achievement, community engagement, and parent/guardian engagement. ODA continues to grow as enrollment numbers increase and new programming sites are added. Additionally, ODA provided summer programming for the first time for over 500 students. ODA continues to go above and beyond for scholars and families by meeting the community's needs. During COVID-19, ODA provided a safe space and support for students needing help with virtual learning.
