Career Connections

career connections student with alumni

The Career Connections program is designed to match first-year undergraduates with alumni for the purpose of career exploration through informational interviews and possible shadowing opportunities. We know that career exploration raises a lot of questions. Career Connections will connect you to alumni who are eager to help you discover answers.

Program Benefits

The goal of Career Connections is to give you a learning opportunity outside the classroom. The benefits are:

  • Building your professional network through a match with an alum facilitated by The Career Center with assistance the Alumni Association
  • Exposure to career opportunities relating to academic majors and industry interests
  • Alumni interaction and guidance in careers, course of study and campus/professional organizations

Program Details

Students must attend a mandatory in-person workshop to participate in the Career Connections program. Workshops are currently being planned.  Keep an eye out in Events on Handshake for dates, times and locations.

At the information session, you will learn about the Career Connections program and how we can connect you with an alum who shares your career interests. Meeting alumni is a great opportunity to gather information about classes, careers and secrets to success. We will also discuss the importance of networking and building your network and you will receive information on how to build a profile on the Alumni Career Network.
