Program Information

The Washington, D.C. Trek offers students an immersive opportunity to explore the nation's political landscape and a range of career paths in government, policy, advocacy, law, and public service leadership.

Through POSC 290: Washington, D.C. Trek: Exploring the Political Ecosystem and Career Paths, students will have first-hand opportunities to engage with professionals from government agencies, think tanks, legal organizations, and advocacy groups. This 3-credit course combines seminar-style discussions, case studies, guest speakers, and a three-day immersive trek to Washington, D.C. during Spring Break.

Throughout the course, students will develop key professional and career skills such as networking, conducting informational interviews, and crafting compelling personal narratives. Balancing academic inquiry with experiential learning, the course concludes with reflective activities that help students integrate their experiences and clarify future academic and professional goals.
