As a faculty advisor for a practicum experience, you will have the opportunity to:

- Build relationships with employers, potentially leading to collaborative opportunities or insights
Faculty Advisor Responsibilities for Practicum
Serving as a faculty advisor for practicum is often a very manageable commitment. Your primary responsibilities include:
- Initial conversation with the student about program requirements and the student’s position
- Assist the student with creating SMART learning objectives. Send your approval of the objectives to the practicum coordinator.
- Participate in a mid-term progress call with the student’s supervisor to discuss their progress. Follow-up with the student with feedback or support as needed.
- Review the following student assignments in Canvas:
- Mid-term self-evaluation survey
- Final reflection paper
- Final self-evaluation survey
- Updated resume
- Assign a grade in SIS (pass/no pass) for the experience
