Music Graduate Student Spotlight: Simi Olabode

Simi Olabode, a PhD student in Musicology, is serving as the 2025–2026 Baker-Nord Graduate Fellow through the Baker-Nord Institute for the Humanities at Case Western Reserve University.

In this role, Simi assists with the day-to-day operations of the Institute and supports a variety of initiatives that promote the humanities across campus. Her responsibilities include developing and managing public and undergraduate programming, maintaining the Institute’s social media pages and website, preparing presentations for university open house events, and contributing to grant-writing and other special projects.

Through her work with the Baker-Nord Institute, Simi helps strengthen connections between the humanities disciplines and the wider university community, while gaining valuable experience in academic program administration and public engagement.
