Undergraduate students pursuing a major outside of music are welcome to add a minor in music to their studies without the need to pass an audition.
For those who don't major or minor in music but still want to engage in musical activities, our ensembles are open to all CWRU students, regardless of major. We also offer music lessons through the Joint Music Program, taught by faculty from the Cleveland Institute of Music (instructional fees apply).

Admission
While the minor in music does not require an entrance audition, first-year students applying for the Arts Achievement Award must submit a Music Arts Supplement along with their CWRU application.

Program Requirements
The minor in music requires 15 credit units: 6 units in music theory (MUTH), 6 units in music history or appreciation (MUHI or MUGN), and 3 units, which may include applied music lessons (MUAP) or music ensembles (MUEN). A maximum of 3 approved transfer course credit units may be applied toward music minors requirements.
