Safe Zone Friend and Safe Zone Advocate sessions are available for all CWRU-affiliated organizations and individuals.

Sign up for Safe Zone if you:

  • Want up-to-date info on support resources for LGBTQ communities at CWRU+
  • Are new to CWRU or
  • Haven't taken a Safe Zone workshop in the last three years

Safe Zone Advocate

UPDATE 9/2/21:  The LGBT Center will not offer Safe Zone Advocate trainings this year while we perform a curriculum audit. Safe Zone Friend will still be offered. Thank you for your understanding!

Building upon learnings from Friend, Safe Zone Advocate will explore how unconscious bias and microaggressions may create unsafe spaces for LGBTQ+ people and engage with scenarios to learn to respond to interpersonal bias.

Group Safe Zone Requests

Request a Safe Zone session for your student organization or department. As you make a request, please choose dates at least 4 weeks in advance to accommodate scheduling. Group coordinators are responsible for room reservations and taking RSVPs for the group. To request a Safe Zone for a CWRU-affiliated group, use this Google form.

Please contact Harry Hawkins, to request a Safe Zone Friend with your group from CIA, CIM, or another community organization.
