User Experience (UX) Program
Our UX projects allow us to learn about Kelvin Smith Library users' needs so we can align our resources and services to better meet those needs. After any recommendations that result from UX projects are implemented, we continue to evaluate and iterate upon those changes.
Ongoing Projects
- Hosting UX Cafe sessions throughout the academic year, where we ask passers-by questions about their experiences with KSL in exchange for cookies.
- Conducting usability testing of library systems, such as the Primo search tool and KSL's digital library, Digital Case, to make them more user friendly.
- Conducting space usage assessments to inform building layout and furniture purchasing decisions.
- Conducting ad hoc UX projects, such as user focus groups to support the Freedman Center redesign.
