Date
Wednesdays, September 4-25
Time
10:30AM to 12:00PM ET

Join us on a journey to explore the legends connecting the Ethiopian Jewish community to the ancient Israelite tribe of Dan and the Queen of Sheba. This extraordinary Jewish culture and tradition has endured centuries of persecution while developing a form of Judaism and Jewish practice removed from Rabbinic teachings and the oral Torah. We will examine the historic conflict of Ethiopian Jewish status in Israel along with the dangerous and epic rescues of the community from war torn Ethiopia in the late 20th century. We will also explore the modern Beta Israel community in Israel as well as their holidays and traditional foods.
