Explore the rich history and ritual objects behind the Jewish spring festival of Purim including the Purim story, its historical context and significance in Judaism. Then we will delve into the traditions and customs that developed in the different Jewish communities over time and the central objects that accompany the festival. The final session will be a tour of the Mishkan Or Judaica Gallery (formerly The Temple Tifereth Israel) at the Maltz Museum where we will visually explore the Purim objects.
