Writing poetry keeps us alert to the amazements of everyday life and the beauty around us. Poet William Carlos Williams wrote: “So much depends upon a red wheelbarrow ...” Looking at the everyday world with fresh eyes is part of poetry writing’s appeal. We share our work in class. Bring 12 copies of a poem you’ve written to the first class. Newcomers welcome.
