The 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution is one of three Reconstruction Amendments adopted after the Civil War to address the legacy of slavery and racial inequality in the United States. This course will explore one of its most influential provisions: Due Process. Through an examination of landmark historical and contemporary Supreme Court cases, we will trace how this constitutional principle has been interpreted over time and how it continues to shape American law and society today.

This course is offered with the generous support of the Association for Continuing Education.
