Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming everyday life—from shopping, healthcare, and transportation to the workplace, the legal system, and the arts. This course explores how AI is reshaping the decisions that affect consumers, workers, and citizens, while raising important questions about privacy, fairness, accountability, and civil liberties. Participants will examine AI’s growing role in professional services, employment practices, constitutional rights, and public policy, while considering whether current laws can keep pace with technological change. The course concludes with a discussion of AI’s broader social, legal, and economic impact, including what these developments may mean for the future of Greater Cleveland and society as a whole. This course will avoid any highly technical vocabulary whenever possible.
