In this talk, I will reflect on the changing ways in which the Georgia author’s work has been read and understood. Despite her death in 1964 at the age of 39 of lupus, O’Connor’s work has continued to be read and debated up to the present day. What can Flannery O’Connor’s work teach us about our twenty-first century world?
