Over fifty-six million years ago, Earth underwent an abrupt extreme global warming that dramatically transformed the oceans, ecosystems and life on the planet. Geologists act as detectives, discovering clues from rocks and fossils to solve this ancient climate mystery. Together we will reveal the drivers, impacts and consequences and what vital lessons can guide us in forecasting the future climate trajectory of Earth.
