Young people around the world rejoiced this past fall when Carlo Acutis became the first “Millennial Saint.” Acutis was an Italian teenager who died of Leukemia in 2006. He had devoted his adolescence to the worship of Catholic miracles and saints, and through the magic of the internet, he managed to get other teenagers interested in these quirky devotions! After he died, Acutis became a celebrity on social media. His story offers us a glimpse into the ways that religion is already changing in the 21st century.
