Megan Koeth, MPA, MS was named the Interim Executive Director of Public Safety in March of 2022 and Executive Director of Public Safety in October 2022. She joined the university in January 2018 as an Emergency Manager in Public Safety. Since then, Megan has advanced serving as Assistant Director of Emergency Management, Director of Resiliency, and Executive Director of Resiliency.
Megan brings over 15 years of experience in emergency management and public safety. In her previous role, she played an immense role in the COVID-19 operations around campus. She ensured that COVID-19 vaccines and testing were easily accessible to students, faculty and staff. Additionally, she assembled mobile and on-campus COVID-19 vaccine clinics for the Cleveland community.
As Executive Director of Public Safety, Megan oversees the university's police, mobile security, facility security, communications center and emergency management. She is ensuring a safe, resilient and inclusive environment for all. Megan is passionate about promoting an interactive and positive relationship between the the division and the CWRU community, as well as the public.
Megan holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs from Xavier University, Master of Public Administration from Cleveland State University and a Master of Science in Homeland Security in Public Health from Penn State University.
Megan is a member of the Cuyahoga County Local Emergency Planning Committee, the Cuyahoga County Emergency Services Board Emergency Management Committee, State of Ohio Training Committee and a member of the Executive Committee for the Emergency Management Association of Ohio.
Megan and her husband have been married for over 10 years and have two beautiful children. In addition to spending time with her family, she enjoys going to Walt Disney World.
