Vincenzo Volpe (CAS ’17) is the founder and coordinator of the LGBTQ+ Flute Choir of the National Flute Association (NFA). The ensemble made its debut last summer during the 2022 NFA convention in Chicago, IL and will perform again at this year’s convention in Phoenix, AZ.

To include the LGBTQ+ community in more NFA convention programming, the LGBTQ+ Flute Choir provides a space for queer flutists and allies to come together, performs works written by LGBTQ+ composers and arrangers, and has a grand old time in community with one another!

Composer, educator, and flutist Kelly Via will conduct the flute choir this year.

The 2023 NFA LGBTQ+ Flute Choir will perform on Saturday, August 5 at 7:00pm MST in the Symphony Hall lobby as the featured Pre-Gala Concert ensemble of the convention.
