How Can We Help?
Need access to a locked classroom, practice room, or rehearsal space?
Follow the steps below:
- Haydn Hall (during regular office hours): Visit the CWRU Music Office or staff member for assistance.
- Denison Hall or Harkness Chapel/Classroom: Find the student staff member on shift or call 216.368.2297 for assistance.
- Locked buildings or after-hours access: Contact CWRU Division of Public Safety at 216.368.3300 (non-emergency). Be prepared to provide your CWRU Network ID and your room reservation confirmation or course information.
Access will be granted only to authorized CWRU affiliates with a valid academic or departmental reason for entry.
Is something wrong with a piano? Use this form to report repair issues, including sticking or broken keys, broken pedals, broken strings, damaged hammers or action parts, buzzing or rattling sounds, loose tuning pins, broken bench hardware, or other mechanical problems. Requests will be addressed as quickly as possible based on technician availability.
Please do not use this form for routine maintenance requests, such as tuning, voicing, regulation, or seasonal adjustments.
This form is only for pianos managed by the CWRU Department of Music and located in Denison Hall, Harkness Chapel, or Haydn Hall.
Pianos Located Elsewhere
- Residence Halls: Submit a maintenance request through MyHousing.
- Tinkham Veale University Center or Thwing Student Center: Contact studentcenters@case.edu.
Submit non-urgent maintenance or custodial requests for classrooms, offices, practice rooms, or common areas within the CWRU Department of Music.
For general repairs or custodial concerns, email music+facilities@case.edu or call 216.368.2297. When possible, include photos and a brief description of the issue to help staff assess and address the problem efficiently.
Report urgent facility emergencies, such as plumbing leaks, electrical hazards, or HVAC failures, to Facilities Services Customer Service at 216.368.2580.
After normal business hours, calls are forwarded to CWRU Division of Public Safety Dispatch. Only urgent maintenance emergencies will be addressed outside of regular business hours.

If you experience or witness a safety or medical emergency, take the following steps:
- Call CWRU Division of Public Safety immedicately at 216.368.3333.
