Traffic and Parking Updates

Case Western Reserve University is pleased to welcome graduates, their families and other guests to campus this week.

To help ensure that everyone has the most positive experience possible, we strongly encourage planning ahead for potential delays—on roadways, and in securing parking.

Those attending Convocation or any of the diploma ceremonies should arrive at least one hour prior to their start times to allow for traffic, parking time, and walking to the venues.

Please visit this site on the eve of the event you plan to attend, as circumstances may change in the coming days.

Wednesday, May 15

The University Convocation starts at 3:30 p.m. in the Veale Convocation, Recreation and Athletic Center. Please be advised Convocation is only for the campus community (students, faculty, and staff)

We strongly recommend that those planning to attend this event arrive as early as possible to secure other parking—for example, at the university’s Severance Garage (11172 East Blvd.) or the Veale garage.

University Hospitals also offers parking at the Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital Garage (2101 Adlebert Road).

Metered parking is available on East Boulevard north of Euclid Avenue, as well as its cross streets.

Friday, May 17

The School of Graduate Studies Diploma Ceremony takes place at 2 p.m. in the Veale Convocation, Recreation and Athletic Center.

This event is expected to draw about 3,000 graduates and guests. Please follow the guidance for Wednesday detailed above, keeping in mind one change: The university has arranged for additional parking to be available in Severance Garage for this ceremony.

Saturday, May 18, and Sunday, May 19

Those attending ceremonies in Veale (law and management on Saturday, and undergraduates on Sunday) will be able to access the Veale Garage from both the north and south directions.

Please note: This structure is not large enough to accommodate all of the guests likely to attend; please identify backup parking options in the event the Veale Garage is full when you arrive.
