For centuries, women have been artists, but sadly, many have gone unnoticed or been subjugated to their male counterparts. In this course, we will look at why women have been ignored, who these women were, and the strides female artists have made. Some of the names will be recognizable, but others will likely be new to you. We will start with women artists of the ancient world and explore the works and lives of women artists through the twentieth century and a few contemporary ones.

This course is offered with the generous support of the Association for Continuing Education.
