With 2024’s best films currently in theaters (or streaming), now is the time to increase your enjoyment and appreciation of the art of cinema. This class begins five weeks before Oscar Night and ends shortly after the presentation of the 2024 Academy Awards. Each session will include Oscar history (with archival clips) and discussion of the current nominees. We’ll learn how the academy picks the nominees and the winners. During the fifth class, we will make our choices for who will win Oscars in several categories. For week six, we’ll see who wins bragging rights for predicting the most winners.
