This three-part course explores the stories of women in the Bible who stepped into leadership roles. From Deborah leading Israel through her judging and prophecy, to Esther using her proximity to power to save her nation, to Judith slaying a powerful enemy, these women risked everything to lead. But not all the Bible’s tough women are portrayed as heroes. We will also discuss villainized women like Athaliah, the only woman to rule Israel or Judah as a monarch, and Delilah, who took down the feared Samson. Each session delves into these characters’ narratives to discuss how powerful women are portrayed in the Bible.
