This lecture examines formation of gender-equality-based society in the Kibbutz, highlighting challenges in the Kibbutz-equality-ideology implementation. What are the challenges in creating a gender-equality-based society? Is the Socialist definition of equality sufficient to create such gender equality in the Kibbutz? What are the “pitfalls” of this definition, and how are they resolved? What changes in equality (either in women's employment or in leadership roles) occurred over time in the Kibbutz, and what are the effects of cultural transformations on gender equality in the Kibbutz?
This lecture is a part of Kibbutz Life: History and Personal Reflections.
