All full-time PhD students receive a competitive stipend, health insurance, and a waiver of all academic tuition fees. Students enter the Biochemistry PhD program by applying to the Biomedical Sciences Training Program (BSTP). Applications should be submitted in late autumn or early winter for an anticipated enrollment the following July. Preference is given to applications received before Dec. 1. Ideal candidates will possess strong grades and have completed undergraduate courses in biology, mathematics, physics, and chemistry.
To apply students should submit
- a completed application form,
- three letters of recommendation,
- official undergraduate transcript(s), and
- when applicable, official TOEFL scores.

Online applications are submitted through the site for the School of Graduate Studies. Please select Biomedical Sciences Training Program in the "Academic Program" menu once you start the application.
