My lab studies the interplay between translation and mRNA turnover and mRNA quality control. We are particularly interested in understanding the mechanisms underlying nonsense-mediated mRNA decay and how the cell recognizes and rapidly destroys these aberrant transcritps. We are also interested in the identification and function of long noncoding RNAs.
