AI in Education Initiative

A finger pointing at the letters "AI"

To our campus community:

In today’s rapidly evolving world, innovation in teaching and learning is critical to preparing students for future challenges and opportunities. By embracing new techniques and technologies, we can create more engaging, personalized, and impactful educational experiences.

The AI in Education initiative places an initial focus on Artificial Intelligence and Experiential Learning. Central to this initiative is the CWRU AI Portal, which provides access to the latest AI models, while ensuring that all data entered is kept confidential within the university.

This priority reflects our commitment to preparing students and faculty for a technology-driven future. In the area of AI, we are dedicated to building AI literacy across our campus, empowering faculty, students, and staff to harness generative AI tools in meaningful ways. Faculty play a critical role in understanding these tools—not only to equip students with skills for the evolving workforce but also to innovate in teaching, research, and daily operations. By utilizing emerging AI technologies, faculty and staff can enhance efficiency, foster creativity, and prioritize hands-on learning experiences that emphasize critical thinking in real-world, discipline-specific contexts. This approach ensures that experiential learning opportunities are deeply integrated into the academic journey, equipping students to tackle contemporary challenges and excel in their future careers.

The AI Task Force, at the forefront of this initiative, is dedicated to exploring and implementing forward-thinking approaches that enhance learning outcomes, foster collaboration, and equip students with skills for lifelong success. Our commitment to innovation ensures that CWRU remains at the forefront of educational excellence, ready to shape the future of knowledge and discovery.
