Spring 2016 Power Up! Student & Youth Leadership Conference
The conference began with the critical question, What is Social Justice? Participants then discussed current social justice issues, learned about different action models used to create systemic change, and developed personal action plans to inspire community transformation.
Lunch featured testimony from local activists Ms. Dionne Carmichael and Donte Gibbs. The conference closed with a powerful spoken word performance that featured activist artists from the Cleveland School of the Arts.
This event was free and open to the public.
The conference will be taking place on Case's campus in Clapp Hall, located at 2080 Adelbert Rd, Cleveland, OH 44106. Paid parking is available at the Veale Parking Garage, and street parking is available along East Boulevard. Public Transportation is also possible, the Heathline Bus Stop is around the corner on Euclid. Please be advised, registration and check-in starts at 8:30 am, with the program starting promptly at 9 am.
