The department contacts applicants via email to request any missing materials before beginning the review process. Should you have any questions regarding your materials while you wait, please email email@example.com.
Our faculty review all application materials thoroughly and contact applicants via email once they have completed the review process.
Interviews and Auditions
Historical Performance Practice
Applicants to the HPP program provide audition videos by January 5. The Head of Historical Performance Practice will contact successful candidates in early February to schedule a live interview.
Applicants to the MAL program provide audition videos by January 15. The Coordinator of Graduate Studies in Music Education will contact finalists in early February to submit a teaching demonstration (PhD only) and schedule a live interview (MAL, MA, and PhD).
Final Admission Decision
If we recommend you for admission, the School of Graduate Studies will then review your record and make the final admission decision. You will receive an email notification prompting you to log back in to the online application system. Please note that a decision is not final until you receive the email notification from Graduate Studies. If admitted, you will need to accept or decline our offer of admission in the system. An accepted offer initiates the matriculation process and you will soon after receive your CWRU Network ID. For international students, accepting our offer will also set the Visa process in motion with the Center for International Affairs.
Due to the variety of our programs and department faculty committees, there is not one set date that admission decisions are released. We will make every effort to make admission decisions in a timely fashion.
