CWRU Bands’ Symphonic Winds earns prestigious performance opportunity

The Symphonic Winds, an ensemble in the Case Western Reserve University Department of Music and CWRU Bands, was selected to perform at the upcoming Ohio Music Education Association’s (OMEA) Professional Development Conference in Columbus, Ohio.

OMEA’s conference is one of the largest state music education conferences in the country and all performing ensembles are vetted via a highly competitive blind audition process. The selection demonstrates the students’ hard work, dedication, and musicality.

The Symphonic Winds perform under the direction of Ryan V. Scherber, assistant professor of music and director of bands.

The OMEA performance will be held on Feb. 4 at 11 a.m. in the Union Station Ballroom of the Columbus Convention Center.
