The Combined Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree program (CBM) is intended for highly motivated current CWRU undergraduate students who are candidates for any bachelor's degree and whose objective is to complete a Master of Science in Biostatistics. Qualified students may be admitted to the Biostatistics MS program and pursue the simultaneous completion of requirements for both the master’s and bachelor’s degrees in 4 – 5 years. The MS in Biostatistics program trains students to analyze data in health and medical research studies and prepares them for well-paying careers (average starting salary of $70,000) that contribute to improving and saving lives. When to Apply
In most cases, a student will submit their application during their sixth semester of undergraduate course enrollment spring of their junior year. The student should have completed approximately 75 credit hours of coursework toward their bachelor’s degree before applying. 90 credit hours must be completed prior to beginning their Biostatistic graduate courses.
All application materials must be received by June 30 for Fall admission.

Materials Required for a Completed Application:
Online Application: Start the online application. Please indicate that you are applying to the School of Medicine, with a degree type of “Combined Bachelor’s/Master’s (Current CWRU Undergraduates Only)” and a program of “Biostatistics (CBM)”.
Unofficial Transcripts: In order to expedite the review, unofficial transcripts MUST be uploaded into the application for all colleges or universities attended. Please make sure uploaded unofficial transcripts are legible. Electronic transcripts can also be emailed to ms-biostatistics@case.edu. Official transcripts are required by Case Western Reserve University School of Graduate Studies upon matriculation.
Resume/CV: Upload your current resume/CV outlining all work experience and volunteer roles with timeframes. Make sure to highlight any completed research positions or opportunities experienced.
Letters of Recommendation: Three letters of recommendation are required. A professor who can attest to your academic or professional experience is recommended to write one or more of these recommendations. The online application will request recommenders' contact info for electronic submission. Letters of recommendation must be signed, dated and on institutional letterhead.
Statement of Purpose: In one to two pages, address your interest in clinical research and how you hope to utilize this program in your career path.
