Reflections

Resident Assistants

RAs are valuable members of the Residence Life team.  RCDs provide supervision to RAs and build a team of RAs who serve the residential community.

Campus Partners

The Office of Residence Life works closely with many campus partners. Below are reflections from some of our closest collaborators.

Sara Lee, MD, Executive Director of Health & Counseling Services

"University Health & Counseling partners extensively with Residence Life in promoting and protecting the well-being of our students. We are lucky to have such professional and collaborative colleagues."

Shirley M. Mosley, MSW, MA, Associate Vice President for Student Affairs & Dean of Students

"As the Dean of Students, working collaboratively with Residence Life is invaluable.  As a team, we support, extend and complement academic life by encouraging students to learn from one another and to cultivate an environment that is intellectually stimulating and fun.  Together, we provide opportunities for students to continue developing valuable life skills."

Naomi Sigg, Director of the Office of Multicultural Affairs

"The Office of Multicultural Affairs partners with Residence Life in many ways.  From diversity training, floor programming, and RA recruitment, OMA is proud of the many opportunities to partner and emphasize diversity, inclusion, and cross cultural interaction in a living/learning environment."

Darnell Parker, Senior Associate Vice President for the Office of Equity

"Our partnership with Residence Life is critical to the success and well-being for our students. We support each other to ensure we are providing a safe and inclusive environment for our residential students."

Kathy Petras, Director of Orientation, First-Year Experience & Family Programs

"First-Year Experience and Family Programs collaborates with Residence Life year round, specifically as it relates to helping new first-year students transition to life at CWRU. We collaborate with large and small scale programming as well as sharing information with first-year students through our FYI newsletter and the Roadmap over the summer. We aim to provide connections and resources to other campus partners throughout the year."

John White, Director of the Office of University Housing

"The visions of both Housing and Residence Life are important to the growth of our students. I believe that it is the Residence Life program and the Housing facilities that will allow us to become one of the best housing programs. We must compliment and support one another for our common goals. We recognize the importance of the interrelationship of two very strong programs and the impact it has on the growth and development of our students."
