Position Overview

The Residential Community Director - Upperclass Experience position creates and facilitates an integrated residential learning environment that moves upperclass students toward achieving the goals of the undergraduate experience, working through the mission and goals of both the Office of Residence Life and the Division of Student Affairs. This embedded position provides comprehensive leadership and support for a community of 500 to 800 upperclass students. Immersed in the student community, the director actively manages the learning experience at both the community and individual level, monitoring and supporting students’ holistic academic, social, and personal development throughout their upperclass experience and through graduation.

Please note that this 12-month position requires the staff person to live on campus in a furnished apartment.

Qualifications

    • Master's degree related field required, higher education or student affairs administration preferred
    • Two years of experience required; may include full-time equivalent graduate and significant undergraduate leadership experience in Residence Life, Academic Advising, or related field.

    Position Overview

    The Residential Community Director - Clarke Tower (RCD) position creates and facilitates an integrated residential 
    learning environment that moves first- and second-year students toward achieving the goals of the undergraduate experience, working through the mission and goals of both the Office of Residence Life and the Division of Student Affairs. This embedded position provides comprehensive leadership and support for a community of 400- 480 first- and second-year students. Immersed in the student community, the RCD actively manages the learning experience at both the community and individual level, monitoring and supporting students’ holistic academic, social, and personal development throughout their transition to CWRU and to successful retention to the second and third years.
     

    Please note that this 12-month position requires the staff person to live on campus in a furnished apartment.

      Position Overview

      The Assistant Director of Residence Life serves as the project leader for the recruitment, selection, training, development, and evaluation of all residence life staff.  As a member of the Office of Residence Life, the Assistant Director supports  a program of over 3500 students in 38 buildings with an operating budget of approximately $1.7 million. Because the nature of student staff positions are that they are generally short-term, part-time, large in number, and require intensive training of novices, staff selection and development processes are essential to a successful residence life program.  The Assistant Director ensures that the recruitment, selection, training, development, and evaluation of the Residence Life staff work to implement the residential characteristic of CWRU and support the intended outcomes of the overall Residential Experience and the First-Year, Second-Year, and Upperclass Experiences specifically. The Assistant Director supervises a Department Assistant. 

      Qualifications

      • Master’s degree in an appropriate discipline required. Master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or Student Personnel preferred.
      • 4 to 5 or more years of professional experience in the field of residence life and/or housing.

      Position Overview

      The Associate Director of Residence Life serves as a senior member of the Office of Residence Life, which implements the residential characteristic of Case Western Reserve University, serving over 3,500 students in 38 buildings with an operating budget of approximately $1.7 million. The Associate Director works in tandem with the Director in leading the Office of Residence Life within the larger mission of the Division of Student Affairs and designs and implements an experience for students that underpins, supports and enhances the intended outcomes of the Residential Experience. The Associate Director supervises a team of residence life professionals and supporting graduate and undergraduate staff members in the First- and Second-Year Experiences. The Associate Director is a member of the Senior Staff On-Call Rotation and will take primary responsibility for assessment within the department.

      Qualifications

      • Master’s degree in an appropriate discipline required. Master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or Student Personnel preferred.
      • 5 to 7 or more years of professional experience in the field of residence life and/or housing.
