A collection of music for flute ensemble featuring works inspired by and related to our home planet. A program for this unique ensemble will showcase  various members of the flute family, including concert flute, piccolo, alto and bass flutes.

About the Director:
Ian Wenz
is a flutist and educator based in Cleveland, Ohio. He is on faculty at the Hudson and Fairlawn Schools of Music and is the flute instructor for Lakewood City Schools. He also serves as an orchestral woodwind and chamber music  coach for the Contemporary Youth Orchestra. Ian performs regularly with various ensembles throughout Northeast Ohio, including a most recent performance as a concerto soloist with the Cleveland Repertory Orchestra in their inaugural concert. He holds a Master of Music Degree in Performance from the University of Akron and a Bachelor of Music in Performance from Bowling Green State University. His primary teachers include Katherine DeJongh, Nina Assimakopoulos, and George Pope. 

About the Ensemble:
The CWRU Bands: Flute Choir was created in the fall semester of 2022 in an effort to provide flute students within the CWRU Bands the opportunity to perform together in this unique ensemble setting that fosters music making and  community among flutists of all disciplines. The flute choir utilizes various members of the flute family, including concert flute, piccolo, alto flute and bass flute. 

CWRU Music Concert Series

This performance is part of the CWRU Music Concert Series. These events are free and open to the public. Can't be with us in person? No problem! Watch the Livestream on concert day.
