Perhaps the most famous building at Squire Valleevue Farm is the Pink Pig, which served as a pig sty during previous days. Flora Stone Mather College later converted the building into a meeting facility and the Pink Pig still has a strong link to Mather College and its alumnae.

Remnants of the pig sty remain, such as two little pig doors that are sealed but still visible. One pig door was removed to add a stone fireplace. A wooden hutch features numerous wooden and ceramic pigs. The kitchen - complete with refrigerator, stove, microwave, and 10-person table - displays several pig-shaped cutting boards that farm workers made from the original wooden boards.

Reservations are permitted for educational usage only. No private event reservations permitted.

Student groups often use the Pink Pig for meetings and overnight activities. Five twin beds are available upstairs in the eastern section of the building.  

Outside, the Pink Pig picnic area offers four 8-foot picnic tables, a charcoal grill (charcoal not provided), a fire pit (with firewood), and three benches. 

  • The maximum day group capacity is 25 guests.
  • The maximum overnight group size is 8 people.
  • The minimum overnight group size is 4 people .

Based on the University calendar, certain dates are considered unavailable for use of the Pink Pig. Those dates are:

  • New Year's Eve
  • Any Scheduled University Holiday
  • Any day that immediately precedes or follows a scheduled University Holiday

No pets are permitted in building.

Facility Usage Fees and Cancellation Policy

$250.00 per day Facility Usage Fee applies to all non-student groups

CWRU Student Groups: No Charge

$75.00 Cancellation Fee for cancellation of reservations less than 14 days prior to event. The full fee will be charged for cancellations within 72 hours of event.

$150.00 MINIMUM WILL BE CHARGED for any damage to the facility.

$50.00 Change Date Fee for date changes made to reservation after confirmation is complete

$50.00 per hour excessive cleaning fee, if required.
