The Undergraduate Biochemistry Program leading to a Bachelor of Arts Degree (B.A.) is intended for students whose primary objective is to move into a career where a strong background in biochemistry will be beneficial.
The B.A. program places less emphasis on the quantitative and physical sciences than the B.S. program and allows students greater flexibility in course selection. For this reason, the B.A. program is recommended for most pre-medical students. However, the B.A. program is also well suited for students considering graduate school in the biological sciences.
Students may participate in an undergraduate research project in one of the many laboratories at CWRU engaged in biochemical research. Undergraduate research is a prerequisite for the SAGES capstone experience.
