Academic Coursework
A minimum of 30 credit hours is required for completion of the MS in Public Health Nutrition. In addition, in order to complete the university's requirements for the Master's degree, students take a written comprehensive examination in their final semester.

Supervised Practice
A minimum of 1320 hours of supervised practice is required to receive the dietetic internship verification statement. Required rotations are as follows:

As an intern, you will be expected to be at your rotation sites a minimum of eight hours each day, in addition to completing assignments and attending meetings for your rotations. Your schedule will mimic the schedule of your preceptor and may include evening and weekend hours.
Time Off and Holidays
Students follow the University calendar during their first semester. Once supervised practice begins, the program allows for two absences in addition to University holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day.
Additional Requirements
Before beginning supervised practice, students must have a background check completed by CWRU Public Safety and urine drug test completed by University Health Services. There is no cost to the intern.
Students must provide verification of COVID vaccines and boosters. Students must be vaccinated against influenza annually in the fall. Flu shot clinics are available on campus free of charge.
Interns will be required to drive to rotation sites. Therefore, a valid driver's license and reliable transportation are necessary.
