Airline Accommodation for COVID-19

United and other major U.S. airlines have announced the waiving of change fees for domestic and international flights booked in March and before for travel in March and April 2019. Tickets will be usable by the traveler for 1-year from the original travel date in most cases of cancellation/change. Refunds are being issued only for cancelled flights or suspended routes per the rules for the individual airline.

United updated its cancellation policy for international flights on March 17th saying for international flights cancelled due to government restriction, a credit good for 12 months would be issued. Refunds would be considered at the end of the 12 months for those who requested them.

Tickets booked on United Airlines through the university preferred travel agents (Direct Travel and Flite II) may be eligible for transfer to other university employees and students for future business travel in the event the current ticket holder will not be travelling in the coming 12 months. Be sure to check with your airline or travel agency directly as refund and fee waiver policies and procedures are subject to change.
