International Student Resources

In addition to the excellent resources and opportunities provided by the Weatherhead School and the Department of Accountancy, faculty and staff work closely with international students, advising them on their academic studies and career development.

International students may be permitted to work off campus in the U.S. after the first academic year through Current Practical Training (CPT), while still registered as a full-time student. After completing the program, they may be eligible to work pursuant to Optional Practical Training (OPT) for another 12 months to seek further development in professional areas. Certain students whose programs are in a STEM field may be eligible to extend the OPT for another 24 months.

International students must work with the CWRU VISA Office to secure appropriate work authorization before beginning any employment off-campus. Visit the VISA Office website for more information.
