Program

One Symphonic Night

Contemporary Youth Orchestra pairs up with legendary guitarist and Akron native Neil Zaza for an unforgettable night of electrifying music. Neil's electric guitar mastery alongside CYO's symphonic stylings brings a whole new sound to the audience. Two generations of NEO musicians come together to bridge different genres and build a community united by music.

CYO is committed to the study and performance of exclusively contemporary and new orchestral music, with a focus on introducing students to careers in the creative arts industries. CYO defines contemporary repertoire as music written in the last 100 years, and we have a distinct interest in performing new music. CYO frequently commissions new works and seeks out adventurous programming opportunities.

Venue Information

The Maltz Performing Arts Center (est. 1924), a collaboration between Case Western Reserve University and The Temple–Tifereth Israel, is a landmark campus venue supported by Milton and Tamar Maltz and other philanthropic leaders. Its stunning 1,200-seat Silver Hall hosts CWRU music ensembles, concerts, and community events that draw thousands each season, with the Nord Family Greenway linking the center to campus and University Circle.

Parking ($10) may be purchased in advance online or in person the day of the event. Each parking pass is good for the day of the performance beginning approximately 1-hour before show time.
